JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Facility Engineer Effective Date: 11/22/2017

POSITION SUMMARY
The Facility Engineer position is responsible for managing the overall business and operational activities for the organization, and manages in the most cost effective manner within quality and safety standards. Allocates materials and workforce needs, establishes standard operating procedures and supervises the daily work of staff whiling serving as a leader.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for providing a safe and positive teamwork environment in support of the organization’s objectives, mission and core values to provide employment opportunities for individuals with significant disabilities.
• Manages the contractor’s facilities department that includes – 2.4 M square feet of PEO SOFSA leased facilities. Oversees the functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and elevators. Manages the interior maintenance and minor renovations of PEO SOFSA buildings and grounds. Oversees the maintenance of PEO SOFSA’s rolling stock and capital assets. Determine and understand specific customer expectations; effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Responsible for hiring new employees for existing and new lines of business, provide employment growth by developing a workforce action plan to place employees in upward mobile jobs, sustain existing employment program and opportunities to promote and track employment growth.
Accountable for expanding the TRDI brand by sustaining current and future growth opportunities by procuring customers, products and services offered by Non-Profit Agencies.
• Follow all labor law, regulatory and employment ratio requirements and collaborates with HR and senior leadership to monitor and enforce the requirements of the AbilityOne program.
Participates in regular site visits to evaluate logistics for work schedules and assists in creating and maintaining program budgets in collaboration with senior management team.
• Monitors and reports on operating costs and informs key stakeholders of cost and labor issues; recommends and implements solutions to problems and ensures systems and controls are established; assess the efficiency of the organization’s procedures and systems and initiates changes for improvement as appropriate.
• Has significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence; accountable for quality control, security, risk management, operational training and payroll approval as needed.
• Evaluates identifies and improves operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s mission and core values; advises key stakeholders of actions and potential risks and arranges for field audits as required.
• Assists with setting the procurement and contract negotiation process for new and renewal of contracts and works with the leadership team to develop contract proposal.
• Collaborates with the leadership team to track, review and evaluate contract performance and to recommend refinements and improvements.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, developing and appraising staff effectively at all contract job sites; also makes recommendations to hire other members of the team.
• Consults with Human Resources to take any employee corrective action as necessary and on a timely basis and in accordance with the organization’s policy and consistent process.
• Represent the organization with customers, key stakeholders, and business partners; establishes and maintains on-going customer relationships with various parties
• Continually updates job knowledge and evaluates internal operational processes to determine how competitive and current the organization is with the latest trends in the industry.

• Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities; represents the organization as required, including attendance at community and industry events and public meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position leads the Operations Department and staff and directly reports to the Vice President.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor's degree in/or related field; Master’s Degree Preferred
•10 years relevant work and leadership experience in a multi-location environment, and or 6 additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job individuals will sit for long periods of time working in front of a computer; lift or move objects weighting up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a warehouse environment and regularly works at contract job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, phones, and smartphones and various job site equipment and machinery.
POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an Exempt full-time position; Work schedule varies and requires long hours and weekends.
Travel: This position may require up to 10% travel; travel may be outside of the local area and overnight.
