Design Engineer (Job Code DE)

Air Comm Corporation has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer to work from our Westminster office. Responsibilities include the design, development, testing, and STC approval of aircraft environmental control systems. Minimal international and domestic travel required. Candidate must possess the ability to apply engineering standards, techniques and procedures in the testing of climate control systems in weight and performance-critical environments. Must be able to generate clear technical reports and other documents and have excellent verbal communication skills. Candidate will interface with OEM personnel and should be comfortable in a highly dynamic team environment.

Duties Include:

Design and integrate hardware for aircraft heater and air conditioner systems.

Develop solutions for customer-driven enhancements/options to current products.

Generate 3-D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.

Specify, evaluate, and test mechanical and electromechanical materials, hardware and subsystems.

Generate test plans and reports, analysis documents, and other substantiating data.

Work in a team approach using 3D CAD, including SolidWorks.

Present design concepts and analysis at design reviews.

Bachelors degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or other applicable Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university required.

Minimum 1 year engineering design experience required aircraft or aircraft systems preferred.

Minimum 1 year 3D CAD design experience required, preferably with SolidWorks.

Minimum 1 year design experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must have the ability to handle multiple high-priority efforts simultaneously.

Working Knowledge of Solid Works and EPDM preferred.

Familiarity with MS-Office, MS-Project and other software tools strongly preferred.

Thermal or structural analysis experience a plus.

Ability to work in a multi discipline engineering team environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Experience with Environmental Control Systems (ECS) product design preferred.

Experience in FAA certification programs a plus.

Ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
