Responsible for the design of reinforced concrete foundations and structural steel primarily for electrical substations and high-voltage electrical transmission lines. Position requires proficiency and recent experience in design of projects located in high seismic regions and in a variety of different soil conditions. Responsibilities include preparation and quality control review of structural calculations, design drawings, technical specifications, and substation steel fabrication drawings; computer modeling; shop drawing review; office support during construction. Additional types of projects may include fossil-fuel power plants, campus-type utility distribution systems, and industrial projects.
Primary Skills: Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, MathCad and STAADPRO. Minimum 5 years of experience substation structure and foundation experience with a engineering consulting firm.
