R&D Engineer - Wickliffe, Ohio

Serve as Main Engineer for R&D project design, implementation, product testing, product release to manufacturing, and life cycle product maintenance support for Harmony product line.
Activities in the area of embedded hardware (analog & digital) and software design, typically involving the development of DCS I/O modules and related products.
Conduct complex analyses and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations to improve the overall development process.
Assist other engineers in their professional and technical development.
Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technology and market trends affecting Company products and services and recommend responsive actions.
COMPLEXITY OF TASKS:
• Strong technical skills within a professional product development environment.
• At least 1 year of practical experience in the field of Freescale Coldfire embedded design.
• Able to implement direction of engineering efforts, engineering projects, adapt to changing technology, and conceive and foster introduction of new concepts and approaches.
• Strong background (academic + work) in Harmony Coldfire product design.
• Experience with high speed data communication such as Ethernet (TCP/IP), PROFIBUS, and HART is a Plus.
• Proficiency in PC Level programming is a Plus.
Primary Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology plus 5-8 years of relative engineering experience. Prefer prior experience in Harmony product design and development on Coldfire based products.
