Job Description
Our Hesston, KS manufacturing facility is looking for a Senior Plastics & Sheet Metal Design Engineer with strong leadership, flexibility, technical and design expertise. Our Hesston location is our largest manufacturing facility in North America and is located 35 minutes outside of Wichita, KS. Massey Ferguson offers one of the most complete lines of agricultural tractors in the industry. Our products extend from ruggedly simple to high-specification tractors.
As the Senior Plastics & Sheet Metal Design Engineer, you will participate in the design and development of new product concepts and complex engineering projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Design & development of vehicle safety & CE components (shields, covers, decks, ladders/steps, handrails, tires, lighting & light brackets, decals, etc.) required to ensure Hesston combines meet applicable safety and CE homologation requirements.
Working closely with the AGCO safety/homologation personnel (Hesston & BVS) & field test will occur.
Assisting with the development of overall vehicle styling (major styling panels, etc.)and keeping vehicle technical files.
Desired Skills & Experience
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a 4 year accredited school.
Proficiency using Excel, Outlook, and Word is required.
Familiarity with CAD (ProE or Solidworks) is preferred.
2-4 years in progressive engineering assignments to gain a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts.
Must have experience with plastics & sheetmetal/weldments.
Requires strong leadership ability and good communication skills. ·
Must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude.
Must be able to travel 2 to 4 weeks per year; 1 to 2 weeks international travel.
