The Conveyor Components Company (CCC) has an opportunity for an Engineering Manager at our headquarters in Croswell, Michigan. Due to the expansion of our business, the Corporate Engineering Department is splitting into two divisions. This position will develop and manage the CCC Engineering Department. This opportunity will involve staff management, design work and development of industrial controls (electro-mechanical), conveyor belt cleaners and other related accessories for bulk material handling systems.
General Responsibilities:
1.Develop and oversee all managerial functions for the CCC Engineering Department to meet Company goals.
2.Contribute to the development of basic concepts for new products and product modifications.
3.Develop new products from a basic concept through field release.
4.Develop test criteria for in house and/or vendor QC programs.
5.Recommend design software and test equipment.
6.Plan and execute product design schedule.
7.Communicate with vendors to develop sources for new components and/or assemblies.
8.Plan and execute release of all necessary documentation for projects.
9.Coordinate release of project to Manufacturing Engineering Department.
10.Coordinate and assist Research & Development personnel during prototyping and testing.
11.Process requests for custom versions of products within areas of expertise.
12.Assist Quality Control and Manufacturing in troubleshooting problems on products in areas of expertise.
13.Keep abreast of relevant developments in technology.
14.Process requests for changes to existing products in areas of expertise.
15.Assist in training of other staff members as needed.
16.Assist in development of departmental procedures.
17.Sales Support: Provide response to customer questions and issues. In addition, train and update sales staff on product functions.
18.Address issues involving certifications and compliance to standards.
Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
1.Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree. (Engineering discipline preferred)
2.At least four years of experience in applications engineering.
3.Mechanical design experience recommended.
4.Knowledge of embedded and wireless technology is a plus.
5.Knowledge of microprocessor hardware and software is a plus.
6.Experience in a leadership role preferred.
7.Previous experience working with PC Board design recommended.
8.Strong math skills.
9.Strong planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
10.Excellent organizational, administrative and problem solving skills.
11.Strong computer skills, ability to effectively use MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
12.Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software is beneficial.
13.Ability to promote and work as a team member to meet organizational goals.
14.Capable of supervising and responding to multi-shift issues relating to Company workforce.
