Your Role: The Packaging Engineering Manager leads a technical team and is responsible for developing and executing strategies related to the innovation, quality, testing, reliability, and compliance of product packaging and systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manages charter describing department responsibilities and visionary goals
Develops and executes strategic plans consistent with the Charter
Manages annual department goals and ties to employee performance
Manages employee, training, development, and achievement
Responsible for packaging performance testing
Responsible for packaging design, and innovation
Resource for packaging line operation and management
Responsible for global harmonization of packaging materials and methods
Responsible for packaging BOM and recipe management
Responsible for packaging policy management
Responsible for packaging quality assurance (finished goods and raw materials)
Responsible for packaging systems design and implementation
Responsible for regulatory compliance related to employee hazmat employee training and hazmat packaging performance testing and recordkeeping.
Responsible for special projects & data analysis related to packaging
Ensures service excellence to internal and external customers
Who You Are:
Education: BS in Packaging Engineering degree preferred
Experience:
5 years of engineering experience or equivalent (preferred)
3 years of managing employees (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills:
Global Knowledge
Managing employees
Mathematics and Statistics
Exceptional Communication skills (written and verbal)
Advanced computer software skills
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Knowledge of demand planning tools
Financial acumen
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma techniques
Knowledge of DOT, IATA, and IMDG transportation regulations
