Hardware Engineer III - Westminster, Colorado

This role will research, design, develop and test new motor drives, microprocessor based control systems. We need a creative and aggressive engineer who is not afraid of high profile projects, and is comfortable being held accountable to schedules, budgets, and multiple priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design motor drives and support of other DC motor development activities.
Schematic design and PCB layout using OrCAD/Allegro.
Prototyping and testing new designs.
Developing EMI filters for DC motors and drivers.
Spice modeling of motor drives and filters.
Design microprocessor based systems to requirements.
Write firmware in C.
May develop or improve GUIs using C#.
May assist in troubleshooting, test plan preparation and set-up of test lab activities.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or other applicable Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 5 years of related work experience required.
Experience with CAN, ARINC and other serial protocols a plus.
Experience with 20-200 Amp 3 phase DC motor drives preferred.
Experience in firmware development, control systems and tuning.
Experience in PCB layout using OrCAD/Allegro preferred.
Experience with C/C++ preferred.
Experience with LabVIEW preferred.
Experience in aviation industry preferred.
Experience in DO-160 testing preferred.
Experience in DO-178 testing preferred.
Experience in Mil-STD-810 testing preferred.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and maintain cooperative working relationships.
