TERRA Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Site Development Department in our corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
Job Description: Engineer will be responsible for the preparation of design plans, details, construction budget, code compliance, design calculation, and specifications including, but not limited to pavement design, grading/drainage, utility plan and profiles. Will coordinate with various entities for utilities and permits and be responsible for implementing Quality Control on all projects. Finally, complete RFIs, on-site construction inspection services, and punchlists as needed.
Qualifications
Must be an Engineer in Training working towards Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois
A bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering or another related field
A Minimum of one year of professional engineer experience
Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and windows-based computer skills is required
Experience using Civil3D is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to write reports, cost estimates, and create schedules is required
Experience in Chicagoland and/or Southeastern Wisconsin is a plus
Responsibilities:
Engineering projects from inception through substantial completion under direction of senior staff
Preparation of design plans, details, reports construction budget, code compliance, design calculation, and specifications including, but not limited to pavement design, grading/drainage, utility plan and profiles
Coordination with various entities for utilities and permits
Participation in TERRAs Quality Control Plan on all projects
Assistance in completion of RFIs, on-site construction inspection services, and punchlists during construction administration
Interaction with internal staff, external vendors, and municipal clients
