Junior Specialist – BioEngineering – College of Engineering
UC Berkeley research group in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a Junior Specialist, Step 1 in the area of Bioengineer or in a closely related field, at percent time 100%. The candidate will perform work in Professor Luke Lee’s lab.
Appointment Length:
This is a full-time, 6 month position and the appointment is renewable depending on availability of funding and satisfactory performance. Anticipated start date is June 2017.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include the following: Work in microfabrication of integrated microfluidic devices with electronic components. The candidate will participate in functional characterization, bioassay and data analysis. Administrative duties including maintaining laboratory protocols, bio/environmental safety compliance will be included in this position. Routine meetings with supervisor will take place to facilitate training and ensure progress.
Basic Qualifications (By Date of Application):
Must have a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in engineering or in a closely related field at the time of application.
Additional Qualifications (By Start Date):
Background and experience in microfabrication processes including lithography, microfluidics and electronic integration.
Proficient in computing languages (i.e., Matlab, Python, Excel).
Scientific communication and presentation skills.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on UC Berkeley salary scales. The full-time salary range is $17.99 – 19.18 per hour.
