Must meet the following criteria before applying:
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas (by exam, not experience)
Willingness to carry firm license in Texas and multiple states
Previous experience in oil and gas midstream and downstream industries 15+ years of experience in engineering with at least 5+ years of experience managing an engineering team and/or department.
Experience must be onshore Duties.
Oversee the engineering group to ensure it achieves its strategic objectives in terms of delivering on scope, schedule, and quality. Ability to manage engineering disciplines to complete the work to quality standards while maintaining project schedules. Ensure all engineering projects, initiative and processes are in conformance with the company’s policies. Able to establish a strong presence and visibility as a senior leader who embodies the culture of the company and exhibits the highest standards of ethical behavior. Manage overall resourcing for engineering; coaching and developing staff; making recommendations on Human Resources activities such as salary increases, performance evaluations, corrective actions, etc. Ensure consistent engineering approach is applied across the engineering disciplines. Eliminate breakdowns between engineering and other departments. Participate in strategic planning, long range plans and management reviews. Setting policy and making decisions within authorized limits. Contribute to the preparation of proposals, studies, contracts, schedules and estimates. Interface with project management, procurement, construction and clients as required. Materially participate in sales and marketing efforts for Engineering and EPC opportunities to sustain and grow the engineering group Develop and foster engineering client relationships Skills/Qualifications: Technical: · Deep practical engineering knowledge. · Substantial supervisory and business management training and experience. · Drafting discipline, standards and tools · Industry and regulatory standards and design criteria. · Extensive experience in oil and gas midstream and downstream industries. ·
Some sales and marketing experience is preferred· Ability to visit onsite field locations with occasional overnight travel. Strong people leader who can motivate and engage a team with demonstrated strength in leading highly complex groups. Ability to attract qualified staff and interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communicator with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills. Previous experience in updating engineering progress with basic earned value concepts. Strong communication and relationship building skills relating to sales and client development. Currently have or ability to obtain a TWIC card and additional safety training.
Education/Experience: Licensed Professional Engineer by Exam in Texas, Willingness to carry firm license in Texas and other states. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, · 15+ years of experience with 3+ years of managing teams of engineers. Demonstrates expertise in engineering concepts, practices and procedures. Experience facilitating and managing the rapid expansion of engineering while maintaining productivity and quality throughout.
