Woolpert is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineer. This individual will be responsible for assisting in field designating, locating, and marking utilities. This position is responsible for designating buried utilities using advanced geophysical technologies and applications.
Accurately interprets subsurface information while in the field as well as processing data findings. Applicant must be familiar with and have worked within the guidelines of ASCE 38-02. Adheres to all safety guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The SUE Technician will have an intermediate knowledge of and carry out the essential duties/responsibilities of this position which include but are not limited to:
Proficient with electromagnetic multi-frequency locating tools and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
Proficient with geophysical prospecting instruments and equipment to complete subsurface investigations and related surveys
Ability to interpret subsurface information in the field and during post processing
Ability to provide sketches of work performed
Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of GPS receivers and Total Station data collectors
Ability to read roadway plans, as-builts and utility company markups
Physical Ability to access manholes and confined spaces.
Ability to work alone or in a team setting
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associates Degree or certificate in a related field with courses in mathematics and/or surveying preferred.
Minimum two years' subsurface utility engineering experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills a must
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
Successful passing of drug test
Oil and gas industry experience preferred
