Scope of Position:

Lead a group of Designers and Engineers (Mechanic, Electric and Software) that includes a combination of experienced, junior and temporary staff. Work with Project Engineers and Operation in Bid- and Projects on definition and development of Vacuum Systems. Strong focus on “On time Delivery” of work packages and optimization of material/process cost. Mentor Designers and Engineers to raise expertise in designing complex Vacuum Systems by using state of the art technologies and processes.

Responsibilities:
1.Supervise team of Engineers and Designers to create preliminary, customer approval and final assembly documentation using specifications, vacuum schematics and instructions from project engineers as input.
2.Maintain resource planning as well as schedule of design projects and provide feedback to Director Engineering & Operations.
3.Oversee the preparation of drawings and bills of material (design, layout, and detail) for the manufacturing of Vacuum Systems (assembly, frames, piping, etc.) Oversee the preparation Electric Schematics and Wiring lists, as well the development of the Control Software.
4.Oversee maintenance of various drawing files and customer documents through SAP.
5.Work on standardization of the Systems building blocks and components to increase the efficiency of the Engineering process and to minimize the development time in customer projects
6.Support the growth of the global System Engineering network to improve the balancing of resources and expertise.
7.Balancing of Workload by using temporary resources as well as external Engineering Offices
8.Develop and maintain ability to select and coordinate appropriate Leybold products with guidance of Project Engineers to meet customer design requirements.
9.Interface with Systems Assembly group to facilitate the manufacturing and assembly process and clarify design issues as required.
10.Implement required changes to resolve manufacturing and field problems to improve product performance and reliability.
11.Define material to be ordered and develop consistent bills of materials with focus on meeting both delivery and cost targets through product commonality and other means.
12.Interface with Supply Chain Management and, as required, vendors to answer technical questions to facilitate the purchasing process.
13.Ensure that knowledge and understanding of customer design requirements and specific issues is communicated to all relevant parties.
14.Troubleshoot and implement required changes to resolve manufacturing and field problems to improve product performance and reliability.
15.Continually seek process, design, and communications improvements to ensure the highest quality while meeting targets – delivery and price.

Qualifications:
1.A minimum of a Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic is required.
2.5+ years of directly related experience required & 2 years of experience supervising a team of designers is required.
3.Drafting and design experience, for electro-mechanical systems preferred.
4.Drafting and design experience must be current and within the past 3 months required.
5.Proficiency in design and layout of structural steel framing, rotary machines stampings, welding, and all phases of manufacturing and fabrication related to ASME, ANSI and ISO codes is preferred.
6.Familiarity with piping and fixtures, valves and equipment related to piping layout and design is preferred.
7.Experience revising electrical diagrams via AutoCAD is preferred.
8.Experience with Electric Machines and PLC
9.SAP familiarity is strongly preferred.
10.Strong familiarity with application of personal computer and Microsoft Office software suite, and the ability to easily navigate in a Windows environment as well as SAP portal is desired.
11.Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
12.Background in Plant or Automation/Control Engineering. Vacuum technology experience and knowledge is preferred.
