ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Test Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager. The Test Engineer position will manage CAN and Ethernet communication interfaces between Seakeeper’s stabilizer electronics and marine multi-function displays.

• Responsible for testing and improving CAN and Ethernet communications between the Seakeeper stabilizer and 3rd party electronics.
• Build and maintain simulators and develop test automation
• Manage specification, test procedures and user manuals.
• Conduct, analyze and document tests to ensure electrical systems meet design requirements.
• Support production and field service with communication interface expertise and troubleshooting guidance including development of solutions to recurring problems (design changes, software updates, field modifications, service bulletins, etc.)
• Develop and test next generation interfaces and stabilizer electronics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related field required and 5+ years related experience. Hands on electrical troubleshooting aptitude and experience are required. Experience specifying, testing and releasing electrical components in a rugged, mobile product is preferred. Candidate must have a strong understanding of and a drive to learn more about user interfaces; CAN protocols, Ethernet communication and various types of test and measurement equipment. Experience with C, C++, python scripting and embedded Linux software is preferred. A desire to learn about other unrelated disciplines in the company is a plus. Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision are essential. Must have strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally. Strong command of Microsoft Office products and interpersonal skills are required. Qualified applicant must be professional, responsive, resourceful, flexible, well organized, detail oriented, and a team player with a positive work attitude. Must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, gather and analyze information skillfully.
