The Honeywell Sensing & Control Advanced Manufacturing Engineering organization has an exciting opportunity available for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II in our Columbus, OH facility. This position will also travel to the Nanjing China factory. Reporting directly to the AME Manager, the role will provide strong technical support for pressure transducer manufacturing primarily to the Nanjing site for various transitions and post transition operations. Key areas of focus include transition execution, customer issue resolution, optimization of capital assets and mfg processes, and development execution for new products and technologies. The technical support team charter will focus on both operational results and effective development.

Responsibilities:

• Promote a safety first culture and attitude
• Complete rapid problem solving in both supporting roles and in leadership for issue recovery teams
• Work and communicate effectively across multiple internal functions and with external suppliers and customers
• Develop the skills and competencies of the Nanjing Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering teams.
• Provide technical expertise to the Nanjing Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering functions during and post transition.
• Develop individual and team goals ensuring effective development of the Nanjing site while ensuring AOP targets are exceeded
• Shadow the transition and deployment of new products and new process technologies ensuring both the speedy implementation and development of the local team across multiple simultaneous projects. Communicate regular updates on project status to senior management.
• Coach the deployment of HOS, Six Sigma Lean tools
• Partner with the design, supply chain and manufacturing engineering teams to develop close strategic collaborations with equipment and component suppliers, and technology partners to ensure optimum vendor selection and supply chain design.
• Ensure that all new products are designed and optimized for manufacture, that process validations are fully complete and that all related process documentation is in place prior to manufacturing startup and product launch. Ensure that all new product builds achieve performance, quality, cost, yield, capacity and launch attainment goals.
• Oversee the specification and purchase of capital equipment during new product development ensuring balance between optimizing technological capabilities and return on investment. Will monitor and control progress of projects to ensure applications of engineering principles are used and design intent is achieved.
• Working closely with the Nanjing team to maintain and develop all new product introduction procedures and compliance to all new product introduction protocols
• Ensure the efficient and timely transfer of process knowledge from project personnel to manufacturing and quality engineers and coordinate the training of production team members on new processes and equipment. The position will involve the development and implementation of the necessary systems, procedures and protocols ensuring that they meet and adhere to current and future accreditations.
• Originates and develops change documents to support production requirements within a continuous improvement environment. Providing technical input to improvement team activity and driving cost reductions via equipment, process and material improvements
• Ensure tasks are delivered on time; meet financial, performance, quality and reliability goals. Maintain vigilance with respect to company assets and cost reduction
• S&C factory based role with frequent travel to China

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree
• 4 years of process and application domain experience for electronic sensing products
• 4 years of experience in product manufacturing and process development of pressure, force & Strain gage transducer fabrication and assembly

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Ability to accomplish objectives in a virtual team environment
• Professional, effective communicator capable of interfacing at multiple levels across functions at a technical and operational level on a daily basis. Acts as both a coach and sound technical expert
• Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Quality or Industrial Engineering in med/high volume and high mix operations, within a Lean enterprise.
• Experience with multiple electronic manufacturing processes (for example, wire bonding, die bonding, adhesive dispense, SMT, laser trim, molding, plating, manual and automated assembly, calibration and test).
• Demonstrated ability to analyze problems to root cause. Experience with various failure analysis techniques and component level testing processes. Ability to complete and guide manufacturing & quality engineers to conduct statistical analysis, draw conclusions and compile technical reports which direct/focus management decisions. Demonstrates complete business awareness and the impact of product/process changes to the business as a whole.
• Experienced in using of process control tools such as FMEA, PMAP, and Cpk Analysis. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract and concrete variables.
• Experience with specification, development, and implementation of mfg equipment
• Global manufacturing experience working with multiple locations
• Ability to identify and deploy process improvements
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization and different operating environments
• Proficient oral and written English communication skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in a team environment demonstrating influence across many functions
• Results focused with successful record of accomplishments through skilled use of influence, persuasion, negotiation, and problem resolution.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean certification desirable
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
