SNC’s Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance business area is searching for a Mechanical Engineer II for the Centennial Colorado office.
This technical career opportunity will be responsible for design/development activities, able to provide supervision as a more senior technical person assigned to same or cross-functional discipline working on aviation programs. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical components for primary and secondary structural components. Applies research to the design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, and/or machines.
Core Competencies:
Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific customer requirements
Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities
Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews
Ensure conformance of products with engineering design and performance specifications
Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost, and schedule requirements
Estimate costs and submit bids for Engineering
Develop and design concepts, take designs to completion through engineering drawings, and support production through engineering drawing revisions.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 10 years of aerospace experience.
Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
Previous experience and skills in project definition, analysis, implementation, lab integration, and production.
Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasizes in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
Ability to travel occasionally required
Highly skilled in 3D, parametric CAD modeling (Solidworks experience preferred)
Comfortable providing product support to external and internal downstream customers.
Knowledge and familiarity with traditional aerospace craft structural design.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Previous or current clearances are preferred.
