Nissan is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill an opening for a Packaging Engineer at our Canton, MS automotive manufacturing plant.
Job Purpose:
The function of this job is to plan for new model and design change impact to production part container and rack fleet. This includes; annual/model specific fiscal planning, material flow setup, coordination with all facility and corporate functions to provide acceptable part presentation to manufacturing processes at top level quality.
Duties:
New model study request support
CAPEX and PIC budget planning
Develop/define optimum SNP / Packaging design for logistics cubing and line side usage
Develop and track timelines and implementation plans for specific launches
Utilize NNA standardize packaging guidelines including all safety requirements
Coordinate packaging approval from appropriate parties using the 4M process
Contact suppliers to submit packaging proposals (PDS) and maintain PDS history and packaging library
Monitor and address non-conforming packaging with suppliers, debiting supplier when necessary
Support Logistics concerning return packaging issues
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred:
Automotive or other complex manufacturing industry, experience preferred.
Bachelors degree in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills
AutoCad Experience
SpaceVision Experience a Plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired:
PC literate with full knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Ability to do detailed Excel data analysis
Full knowledge of material flow process
Working knowledge of inventory system
Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform presentations in an effective manner
Strong math skills and Analytical problem solving skills
General understanding of assembly functions and processes
CAPEX / PIC budget forecasting and planning skills
