Responsibilities
Responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of image guided surgery products. Develops and manages supplier/vendor relationships. Ability to design and carry a project to completion with minimal direction. Interfaces with all departments throughout the company.
o Design and develop electromechanical products based on requirements
o Provides technical assistance as required.
o Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained and completed for new technology programs, ensuring that information is transferred to product line specific areas during commercialization phase.
o Plans, designs and oversees the testing of devices according to international electrical emission, immunity and safety standards.
Basic Qualifications
o B.S. Electrical Engineering, Biomedical engineering
o 3+ years of experience with B.S.
o Working knowledge of international medical electrical safety standards (EN-60601-1)
o Familiar with PCB and schematic layout tools
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
o Experience with design and surgical use of the company's products.
o An ability to develop products in pace with market changes.
o Extensive knowledge of electrical emission, immunity and safety testing of medical devices.
o Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems.
o Familiar with quality control and regulatory processes throughout the company.
o Computer literate. Skilled with business and PCB layout and manufacturing software (preferably PADS).
o Capable of creating the initial design given a concept, implements the design process to bring the product to completion.
o Knowledge in electrical and electronic manufacturing processes as they apply to the design process.
o Team oriented.
