We are looking for a Process Safety Engineer at our Neenah Technical Center in Wisconsin.
The Process Safety Engineer will lead the process safety program within an R&D environment and implement required process safety programs at the division and corporate level. In addition, this role will be responsible for conducting process safety self-assessments, investigations, and pre-start safety reviews. The Process Safety Engineer will provide leadership and direction around change management practices as it relates to plant operations, process and product development, and lab services while ensuring adherence to internal compliance standards, policies, and practices. They will also manage site process safety programs including, but not limited to: combustible dust, LOTO, pressure safety devices, and Yankee dryer hazard analysis.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical engineering
• Five years of experience in safety process design within a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
• High level of technical skills and safety process knowledge
• Manufacturing experience in pulp/paper processing or chemical processing
• Experience with process equipment, suppliers, and engineering consultants
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
• Strong communication skills with plant staff, safety management, and internal safety peers
• Knowledge/awareness of Federal and State regulations relative to Process Safety Management
• Strong safety sense and personal accountability
• Proven people skills, including coaching, mentoring, and managing
• Strong computer and problem solving skills
• Working knowledge of process hazard analysis (PHA) and pre-start safety reviews (PSSR)
• Team player while also being a strong and motivated performer
