R. STAHL is acknowledged as the world’s foremost innovators in explosion proof and explosion protected components and systems for automation, control and distribution, operations and monitoring, lighting and signals and alarms.
This position will report to the VP of Operations at R. STAHL, Inc. and have the following primary responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical/mechanical control, power and distribution panels and systems for harsh and hazardous (classified) locations.
- Suggest and present technical solutions and/or alternatives to key customer issues and prepare quotations and appropriate documentation (drawings. Bill of materials, etc.)
- Participate in cycle of request of quotation, inquiry and sales order.
- Act as technical project manager for customer customization and integrations.
- Provide technical assistance and service for engineering, production, sales personnel and customers.
- Support in marketing of engineering services.
- Direct assembly and modification for special design as well as standard products.
- Assist with technical training.
- Assist in inspection of electrical assemblies and installations.
- Assists in testing and certification of electrical products with local and global certification agencies.
- Develop procedures and quality standards for engineering work.
- Develop policies and procedures for engineering work and workflow.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications for successful candidates will include:
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Ability to assist customers developing requirements and statements of work.
- Skilled in reading design specifications and technical drawings (electrical and mechanical).
- Ability to operate a CAD system, MS Office, and a database management system.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to practical engineering problems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and work within a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Strong commitment to the performance of quality work and a disciplined work ethic with a positive attitude.
- Self-starter. Must be able to work independently with a minimum supervision or direction.
- Ability to travel 10-20%
- Must be able to work at our German Headquarters for a period of time.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - or - Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology with experience.
- Professional Engineer P.E. (optional).
- 3-4 years experience in a client responsive technical environment.
- Experience in performing complex engineering and technical calculations, reading and interpreting technical specifications and drawings, analyzing industrial facilities and operations, and performing quantitative analysis.
