Insync Design is a product development firm working in a wide range of product categories. We design everything from cosmetic packaging (bottles, compacts, etc.) to large utility equipment (forklifts, tractors, etc.). Candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast paced creative environment.
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Work closely with Insync Mechanical Engineers and Industrial Designers on concept realization and feasibility using sketches, solid modeling, and FDM prototyping. Develop elegant and robust mechanical solutions for product concepts with tight spatial constraints, which require small mechanisms, integrated electronics, and complex appearance surfaces. Use engineering analysis and simulation to design in product quality in the early design stages. Translate concepts into manufacturable and cost effective detailed designs. Create design documentation for release to manufacturing including bill of materials and part/assembly drawings. Support design through production tooling, qualification testing, and manufacturing introduction. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Must have Solidworks or Pro/E experience with strong surfacing skills. Must have plastics injection molding experience and experience in part design. Other skills may include experience in metal part design, working with overseas product development and manufacturing, and creating 2D inspection drawings and GD&T tolerances. Experience with injection tool design, Algor FEA, FMEA, DOE, and Moldflow is a plus. Extensive client contact with some travel is required.
