We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer of Welding & Training to join our team at our Beloit, Kansas location. Our Beloit location manufactures the AGCO Corporation Sunflower brand. Sunflower is recognized around the world as a producer and marketer of top quality products, including primary tillage tools, soil conditioners, land finishers, chisels, field cultivators, disc harrows, grain carts and more. The expertise in the Sunflower production facilities is utilized by AGCO to incorporate specific manufacturing operations into other AGCO factories worldwide.

The Manufacturing Engineer of Welding & Training will conduct manufacturing/weld engineering assignments in conformity with sound engineering principles, policies, and controls to develop new methods, tooling, and process designs to resolve quality and cost issues in manufacturing. They will also be the Welding expert providing training and support in technical assistance, new equipment justification, plant floor layout, lean opportunities, in-sourcing/out-sourcing, and classroom training.

Specific Responsibilities include: •Direct and coordinate prototype and production activities within the manufacturing facility to assure all functional areas are involved to the extent specified in the product development procedure. These duties specifically focusing on design interaction for improvements of manufacturability, cost, and quality of current/future designs.

•Research and development of new/existing processes and manufacturing systems to improve quality, productivity, and reduce operating costs. R&D should include the discovery of new patterns of welding phenomena through partnerships, testing, and/or idea exchanges with technical contacts.

•Responsible for all aspects of project management on assigned projects including but not limited to the following: schedule development, schedule adherence, status monitoring, and budget compliance.

•Robotic/welding fixturing design.

•Advancement of robotics/shop floor automation.

Education/Certifications: •Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year accredited school in Weld, Material Science, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline. •Technical related software proficiency (preference to MS Office -- Excel, Outlook, Word, MS project; CAD -- ProE, AutoCAD; Robot programming -- Robot studio. •Should possess knowledge & experience with AWS or ASME code (preference to certifications). •A minimum of two years of engineering experience in a Weld Engineering Role to acquire sufficient background and technique to perform job responsibilities. •Project management for new equipment installations and new product development/introduction. •Proficiency at GMAW welding in all positions. •Knowledge of agricultural parts, machinery and equipment helpful.

Required Skills: •Team player who can communicate effectively in a team environment. •Evaluation and writing of welding procedures and specifications (including PQRs and welder certifications). •Evaluating weld defects and developing corrective actions (including analysis of weld joints using inspection and testing activities to validate conformance of weld procedures to industry code and internal quality requirements). •Installation and programming with GMAW weld robots.
