We are seeking a Compliance & Reliability Engineer to join our team at our Jackson, Minnesota location. Our Jackson location manufactures the AGCO Challenger brand. The Challenger is our fastest-growing equipment brand in North America. Its tractor product line includes both wheeled and track-type designs, CAT engines, as well as innovative suspension systems to meet the varying needs of professional farmers around the world. The Challenger MT875B track tractor holds a world record by cultivating 1,590 acres (644 ha and 14 m) in 24 hours with a single operator pulling a 46-foot-wide disc.

The Compliance & Reliability Engineer will review machine designs and provide input to staff on features and characteristics required to meet international standards and regulations and to obtain homologation approvals by independent and governmental entities required for sale of machines throughout the world. This person will be responsible for ensuring that we meet regulations for on road use and safety requirements for operators and spectators.

Specific responsibilities include: Review of current and proposed standards and regulations to determine if vehicle designs comply with the requirements outlined in standards and regulations. Develop knowledge and relationships with standards and regulation development bodies to keep current with initiatives that would affect product design and provide status of implementation to the design staff as required. Develop and maintain technical construction files for Jackson products that include design information, approval markings, test reports, and certification information required for approvals. Work with governmental and independent agencies such as TUV to obtain the required approvals. Conduct safety audits to assess and document risk involved in marketing vehicle designs. Review design activities of engineering design staff and provide standards and/or regulations pertinent to the individual designs. Assist marketing with developing functional requirements for new products to assure compliance with standards and regulations. Act as product liability expert regarding safety, standards, and compliance issues in the field.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Degree required. A Master’s degree is preferred. 5+ years experience in certification and compliance relating to Research and Development. 5+ years experience in the agricultural/off road/heavy equipment industry, working with relevant statutes, regulations, and requirements of domestic and international markets, including ISO and ASABE is strongly preferred. Must be able to work independently, with minimal direction. Must possess strong communication skills as this person will interface within multiple departments – internal and external to AGCO. Requires potential travel, primarily to Europe. A passport is required. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be able to determine requirements, research alternatives and propose solutions.
