We are expanding our engineering department and have an opportunity for an Engineering Professional with a focus on real-time control systems. The position requires a disciplined professional with effective communication skills who has demonstrated success in engineering complex systems. We seek a self directed and organized candidate who is excited about working on cutting-edge, renewable, wind energy technology.
Responsibilities
• Model devices, mechanisms, systems, electronic, analog, digital, electrical, power, and other dynamics
• Design and run deterministic and statistical simulations to aid system design decisions and testing
• Design Digital Signal Processing and Control Algorithms for local and global performance
• Assure global and local stability, disturbance rejection, and robustness to external factors
• Embedded systems software architecting
• Collaborate with other engineering functions
• Work within a quality system and document work
Required Experience and Skills
• Solid and practiced knowledge in Classical and Modern Control approaches along with signal processing using recursive and non recursive filters, state estimators and system identification methods
• Must be fluent with discrete and continuous time domain analysis, and deterministic and stochastic processes
• Working knowledge of sensors, actuators, embedded controllers, electric machines, physics
• Track record of developing large, complex, linear or nonlinear, embedded control systems
• Embedded electronics and software knowledge
• FMEA, FTA
• Matlab/ Simulink
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Experience and Skills
• Exposure to power electronic systems
• Systems Engineering knowledge
• Systems Integration and Test
• Instrumentation and Data Acquisition
• Familiar with product development models such as waterfall, spiral, and Vee cycle
• Embedded system project management, estimation and planning
• Hardware-In the-Loop and AutoCoding
• RT design methods and tools such as SASD, UML, Yourdon, process diagrams, and state machines, flow charts, state diagrams, logic diagrams, data flow diagrams
• Control theory of rotating machinery, and Power Electronic systems
• Wind Energy Industry
Required Qualifications
• Seven to fifteen years of experience of Embedded Control Systems Design
• Ability to travel 25%
• Master's degree in electrical, control theory, mechanical, or systems engineering
Preferred Qualifications
• DFSS Certification
• PhD Degree
• Familiarity with Software development approaches such as Agile, Scrum, CMMI
Primary Skills: modeling, simulation, and testing of embedded systems
